Kobbari Patchadi

Kobbari Pachadi is a coconut chutney that is savoured with rice and ghee in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Coconut chutney is one of my favorite among all Andhra chutneys.This coconut chutney is served with rice.There is little difference between breakfast Coconut chutney and Rice coconut chutney. you need to choose mature coconut to prepare this chutney.mature coconuts are dark brown in color.first you need to break the coconut and then separate the flesh from its shell.
Ingrediants
  1. 1 medium-sized Coconut
  2. dry red chillies 40gms
  3. 1 tsp urdadal
  4. oil as required
  5. 2 medium tomatoes
  6. small lemon sized tamarind
  7. salt as required
ForTadka:
  1. oil as required
  2. mustard seeds 1tsp
  3. cumin seeds 1 tsp
  4. channa dal 1 tsp
  5. urdadal 1tsp
  6. curry leaves
  7. dry red chillies 2
Method of Preparation
  • Break one coconut and separate the flesh from the shell. Cut it into a small pieces.
  • Take a pan add required amount of oil, once oil get heated add 30 grams of dry red chillies and fry it on a low flame.
  • Once dry red chillies get fried now transfer this chillies in to a small plate.
  • In the same pan add chopped coconut pieces fry it on a low flame and fry untill raw flavor was gone.
  • once Coconut pieces get fried transfer into a plate.
  • In the same pan add chopped tomatoes and one small lemon sized tamarind cook it on a low flame.
  • In the mean time take a blender add fried dry red chillies blend it into a coarse powder then add fried Coconut pieces again blend it.
  • Now add tomatoes, tamarind , salt and required amount of water blend it into a smooth paste. Now transfer this Chutney into a bowl.

For Tadka:
  • Take a pan add oil as required once oil get heated add mustard seeds 1tsp, add cumin seeds 1 tsp, add channa dal 1 tsp, add urdadal 1tsp, add curry leaves add dry red chillies 2 fry it on a low flame now turn off the flame and transfer this into prepared coconut chutney. Serve this Chutney with hot rice.
