Ingrediants
  1. 1/2 kg brinjals, washed, cubed and soaked in water
  2. 1 cup yellow peas soaked and boiled
  3. oil as required
  4. cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  5. mustard seeds 1 tbsp
  6. channa dal 1 tbsp
  7. urad dal 1 tbsp
  8. turmeric powder pinch
  9. chopped onion
  10. curry leaves
  11. chopped green chillies
  12. ginger garlic poppy seeds paste
  13. salt as required
  14. red chilli powder
  15. coriander powder
  16. cumin powder
  17. garam masala
  18. chopped coriander
Method of Preparation
  • take a pan add oil, once heated add cumin seeds 1 tbsp, mustard seeds 1 tbsp, channa dal 1 tbsp, urad dal 1 tbsp, turmeric powder pinch.
  • Now mix it and fry on low flame. Now add chopped onions, green chillies, curry leaves stir it and fry it.
  • At this moment add ginger garlic poppy seeds paste fry until raw flavour was gone.
  • Now add washed chopped brinjal pieces mix it once and add salt as required.
  • Cover with lid and cook for 10 mins. After 10 mins Remove the lid and add red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and chopped coriander.
  • Cover with lid cook for 5 to 10 mins. That's all vankaya batani was ready.
